Science can’t thrive in restriction

29 May

I put on the TV and tune into NDTV HINDU and I hear news that a girl in an engineering college has committed suicide. The college staff had ragged her because of her personal action. This ragging had hurt her so much that she killed her self.

I studied in a similar college (Panimalar Engineering) where there was and is too much restriction. Colleges like these though boast of infrastructure and transport facilities turn out to be really dumb. They don’t have good teaching staff as the management ragged the teachers too! I am not kidding, that’s true. Which good mind will like to teach in such a restrictive environment?

These colleges have no patents to boast. They have no scientific papers published. Why can’t these people come out, be bold and think beyond making money? Why can’t they realize science and mathematics will not thrive under restriction? I can’t get it. I really really can’t figure out why these people are so dumb?

Currently none. But there could be a college unknown to me that truly strives to impart knowledge. You see my knowledge is not exhaustive.

Since almost all educational institutions aim on money, we must invite foreign universities to establish base in our land and provide quality education.

Kapil Sibal is striving for that, but rich college bosses in India are apposing it using their influence.
